He was predeceased by : his father Stephen Macey; his wife Elizabeth Williams (Lizzy) of Ossining; his mother Anna Cibula Macey (Cibula); and his siblings, Rudy, Stephen, Frank Macey and Adele Macey (Helen Macey Diminescu).

He is survived by : his daughter Marilyn; and his son-in-law Frank Palmietto of Melbourne Florida. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Leach and Thomas Funeral Home (45 S Highland Ave, Ossining, NY 10562). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Augustine Church (381 N Highland Ave, Ossining, NY 10562). A burial was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 12:45 PM at the St. Augustine Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be sent to John's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, POB 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
