He is survived by: his parents, Ernestine and Jose Matta Sr.; his grandmother Esther Rivera; his brother Christopher Lee Matta; his son Byran A. Matta (Erica Gendler); his grandson Jacob; his brother Antonio Matta; and his pets, Macy, Phoebe and Gracie. He is also survived by extended family and close friends he considered brothers.
Donations in his name can be made to Northern Westchester Hospital in thanks for the care he received during his battle.
