She was predeceased by: her parents, Thelma DeMent (Chubb) and John DeMent; her husband William "Lanky" Dawson; and her brothers, James DeMent (Jim) and Louis (Jackie).
She is survived by: her granddaughter Audra Smith Ahl (Joseph); her sister Marcia Germain of Wake Forest, NC; and her sisters-in-law, Vivian DeMent (Bim) of Minetto, NY and Mary DeMent of Clay, NY.
