He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert T. Poydock and Doris Poydock (Stephens). He is survived by : his wife Linda Poydock (Aberth); his daughters, Christine Puffer (Patrick) of Camillus, NY and Stephanie Bazinet (Andrew) of Macedon, NY; his brothers, Mark Poydock (Luci) of Lexington, NC and Robin Poydock (Bonnie) of Perry, NY; his grandchildren, Ashleigh Spencer (Patrick), Alyssa Martin (Preston) and Sarah Tanner; his great grandchild Benny; his caregivers, Gail and Georgia; and also Don Kranz. He is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins, and long-time friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 24th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Nelson Funeral Home (11 W Albany St, Oswego, NY 13126). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 24th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, the H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego or the Sterling Historical Society.

“So, so sad to read this. Steve was a true gem of a person. He was a perfectionist in everything he did as teacher, carpenter and photographer. More important, Steve was kind, intelligent, caring, and honest. If you hired him for a project, you'd hand him your house keys, give him full access to your Burke's or Raby's accounts and he'd do a meticulous job. He'd let me help him on several projects he did for us and I learned a lot from him. We'll miss him greatly, RIP, Doug & Barb Caruso”
