He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Sr. Straut and Eva Straut; and his brothers, Walter Jr. and Gary. He is survived by: his wife Denise Straut; his son Nathan; his daughter-in-law Lindsay Straut; his daughter Holly Straut; his grandchildren, Lillian, Soleil, Nyla and Noah; his sisters, Patricia (Bob), Debra and Ann Marie (Peter); his father-in-law Len Kent; and his brothers-in-law, Len and Bradley Kent. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lewis Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home (51 Dietz St, Oneonta, NY 13820). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Otego Presbyterian Church (16 River St, Otego, NY 13825).
