He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Barber and Effie Barber (Turner); and his siblings, Marie Barber, Lois Kwick, Beverly Denelsbeck, Mary Corona, Charlotte Rizzo, Charles, Milton and Harold Barber.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Barber (Swayne); his daughter Susan Joan Mallory; his grandsons, Matthew Mallory (Sarah) and Christopher John Mallory (Anna); and his great grandchildren, Amarii Matthew Richardson and Dillon Thomas Mallory. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The omission of flowers is requested by the family and would appreciate those desiring to make contributions to the church or to the Owasco Fire Dept #2 on Corners Road in memory of John.
