He was predeceased by: his parents, David Essler and Barb Essler; and his father-in-law Clarence Bogardus. He is survived by: his wife Karen Essler (Bogardus); his children, Dane Essler (Scott Luce), Damon, Sara Essler, Brooke and Brett Vesico; his grandchildren, Camden, Hadley Essler, Broen and Bohannon Vesico; his sister Cheryl May (Steven); his nieces, Tiffany Moulton (Wayne) and Capri Constantino (Mike); his mother-in-law Jean Guy (Jim); and his brothers-in-law, Mike Bogardus (Debbie) and Kevin Bogardus (Donna).
