It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rickey L. Wheeler (Painted Post, New York), who passed away on June 15, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Rickey leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Wheeler and Donna Kinner; and his siblings, Robert Wheeler, Virgil Wheeler (Bud), Joyce Sick and Betty Wheeler.
He is survived by: his close friend Ethel Wheeler; his children, David Wilson (Erin) of Rome, NY, Linda Davis (Erik) of Virginia, Darla Abbott of Painted Post and Herbert Wheeler III of Painted Post; and his sister Virginia Jones of Florida. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
