He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome Muthig and Nellie Grant Muthig; his siblings, Grant, Calvin, Clyde, Blake, Harold, Raymond, Michael, Mildred Huggins, Hazel Raflowitz, Doris Coon, Fern Muccino and Annette Brown; his children, Kyle J. Muthig and Valerie Muthig Mott; and his grandson Ryan Thomas Blume.

He is survived by: his children, Sheryl Muthig Blume, Paul J. Muthig (Christine), Kari Hawkins and Krista Muthig; his grandchildren, Allison, Kevin, Derek Blume, Helen McCombs, Tiffany, Cecil Hawkins, Sunsaree Van Aken, Savaiyah Lee and Olivia Muthig; his in-laws, Stephen Sprague (Diane), Mariellen Bowers, Beverly Muthig and Dorothy Muthig; Dina Muthig. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
