We announce the death of Joan Elizabeth Vaughan of Patterson, New York, who passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 87. Joan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Potter and Mary Potter. She is survived by: her children, Thomas (Margot), Kevin (Meg), Jennifer (Kevin) and Arthur (Anya); her grandchildren, Patrick, Timothy, Thomas, Maggie, Brian, Bridget, Juliet, Olivia, Peter, Keith, Fiona, Lily, Joseph, Róisín, Luke and Finn; her great grandchildren, Sam, Elise, Jack, Teddy and Ollie; her brothers, Arthur and Raymond; and her husband Raymond Vaughan. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Horn & Thomes, INC Funeral Home (83 E Main St, Pawling, NY 12564). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (39 E Main St, Pawling, NY 12564).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's name to the Missionaries of Charity at 1070 Union Ave., Bronx, NY 10459.
