He was predeceased by : his parents, Everett "Jim" Rutherford (Dolores) and Mary Jane Hall (Skip); his grandparents, Bessie Rutherford, Evelyn and Frank Wald (Poppy); his siblings, James Rutherford, Sandy Diehl and Jeannie Relyea; his granddaughter Topanga Rutherford; his mother-in-law Evelyn Lemanski; and his close friend Pat McVean.

He is survived by : his wife Cheryl Rutherford; his children, Dawn Marsceill (Rob), Sara Rutherford-Bluhm (Amy), Ryan Rutherford (Abby), Beth O'Shea (Steve), Cathi Zimmer, Tim Rutherford, Sarah Riggi (Jase), Chris Rutherford (Heather), Ben Rutherford (Jacquie) and Lee Rutherford; his siblings, Mary Falker (Ken), Candy Albanese (Chuck), Terry Rutherford (Ruth), Kim Barber (Larry), Tom Rutherford (Margo), Scott Mead (June), Sharon Brant, Gena Rutherford and Mark Hall; his siblings-in-law, Gloria Ritter (Jerry), Sharon Price (Sam), Sheila Groh, Sandy Wilkins (Craig), Sue Taylor (David) and Shelly Freeman (Donald); his stepmother Rita Mallison; and his close friend Doug McVean. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
