Adeline Oddo Obituary
Adeline "Addie" Oddo, age 94, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on September 18, 1931, Adeline lived a full and meaningful life rooted in family, devotion, and simple joys. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Oddo; her cherished son-in-law, Raymond Carotenuto; her parents, Frederick and Margaret Diehl; and her siblings, Frederick Diehl, Margaret Rosenthal, Corinne Ferrara, and Charles Diehl.
She wore many titles throughout her life—Addie, Mom, Grandma, Gram, Chicky, and of course Nanie, each one spoken with love and carrying its own special meaning.
Addie leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts: her son Joseph (Valerie) and daughter Janice; her grandchildren Raymond (Bettina), Robert (Kristen), Kristi (Nicholas), Joseph (Amanda), Ronald (Mayra), and Lauranmarie (Erik); and her treasured great-grandchildren Raymond, Briella, Dominic, Capri, Cameron, Robert, Vincent, Joseph, and Alessia. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Addie considered herself truly blessed to witness her beautiful family grow through the generations. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved deeply.
She was an avid sports fan who never missed a game, especially when it came to her beloved New York Islanders. Whether watching professional sports on television or cheering from the sidelines at her grandchildren's games, Addie's enthusiasm was unmatched—often calling her family to make sure she didn't miss a moment.
She loved gathering around the table for card games—War, Poker, 500 Rummy (where she was known for hoarding all the aces), Rummikub, Scrabble and Sequence—always bringing laughter, a little friendly competition, and her signature spark. With a sweet piece of crumb cake never far from reach, those moments became cherished traditions filled with warmth, joy, and togetherness.
She also found so much joy in the lanes, where she proudly bowled for years alongside her cherished VIP Ladies league, surrounded by family and dear friends. Even as time passed, her love for the game never faded—she only set down her bowling ball in recent years, leaving behind countless memories of laughter, camaraderie, and strikes well earned.
Her greatest happiness, however, was found in the everyday moments spent with her family. From playing hockey to becoming the hockey announcer, racing Hot Wheels, roaring dinosaurs, dressing Barbies and even helping with homework. Addie could often be found right on the floor fully immersed in the world of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her warmth, playful spirit, and unwavering presence created memories that will be cherished forever.
Addie will be remembered for her deep love of family, her lively spirit, and the joy she brought into every room she entered. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and the love she so freely gave.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
