Gail Nelli wrote a sympathy message

“My heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Fritz, my 6th grade teacher in the school year of 1961-1962. My family had moved to Sodus Point from Rochester, arriving 2 weeks into the year. Though I was a bit nervous that first day, he was so kind and supportive, I soon acclimated. A very perceptive teacher, he was always encouraging. I later became a teacher myself and attribute my love of education to the teachers at SCS like Mr. Fritz who were such excellent role models. Thank you!”

Roy Hyland wrote a sympathy message

“Rudy, you were unique, always interesting, your tongue in cheek comments were iconic. You were a treasure trove of knowledge and taught me most of what I needed to know to tackle gardening, which I have grown to love, thank you. Your friendship was invaluable, you became friends with my mother and taught some of my children. They all enjoyed this opportunity. Your legacy in Sodus Central will be that of a man of superior knowledge, honesty, pedagogical expertise, and consistent excellence.”

Sally Gill wrote a sympathy message

“To all of Rudy's family and friends, I offer my condolences. I worked with Rudy at Sodus Intermediate School for four years and I'm sure that you know but I'm going to say it anyway, that Rudy was very highly regarded by all the staff and teachers! He was such a great mentor and resource for all the staff, and students loved him too! I also appreciated Rudy's extensive knowledge of plants. I remember he helped me identify bushes and plants in my yard that I was unfamiliar with! I miss him!”

He was a true gentleman with just the right amount of twinkle that illustrated his sense of humor. Rest now, Rudy. Cindy Rittinger”

Betsy Wahl wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Fritz family, I send my sincere sympathy to all of Rudy’s family and friends. He was a kind and caring friend to all! He taught in the intermediate, and I taught in the primary, so I didn’t get to know him as much as others. He was my son’s 6th grade teacher, and instilled in him confidence in himself, and a love of nature. I pray that you can feel the love and caring of his friends and members of the SCS faculty! I know God will enjoy having Rudy in heaven. In love and caring, Betsy Wahl”
