He was predeceased by: his parents, Desmond Murphy and Emma Murphy (Comeau). He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Fay St. Mary; his children, Den, Bren, Jer, Brenda Jean, Dennis Kevin Jr. (Penny) and Jerald Desmond (Kathleen); his grandchildren, Lauren Freedman (Michael) and Meredith Grosvenor (David); his great grandchildren, James Freedman, Madilyn Freedman, Matilda Grosvenor and Alanna Cropley; and his siblings, Brian Murphy, Patrick Murphy (Barbara), Kathleen Battaglia (Tony) and Maureen Williams.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Michael's Catholic Church (312 Liberty St, Penn Yan, NY 14527). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at the St. Michael's Cemetery (54 W Lake Rd, Penn Yan, NY 14527). The family is especially appreciative to Kyle and Jennifer for their many acts of kindness to Dr. M after Yvonne passed, including the Covid years (groceries, laundry, keeping him off the stairs), and those " Help, I've fallen and I can't get up" moments.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Wilmot Cancer Center, UR or a charity of one's choice in his memory.
