It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth (Jensen) Smithoover of Penn Yan, New York, who passed away on September 18, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Jensen and Clara Jensen of Dresden, NY.; her sons, James and William Smithoover; her husband James E Smithoover; her siblings, Irene Strosnider (Robert) and George Jensen (Jane); her niece Janet; her nephew James Jensen; her grandchild Makius of Maine; and her close friend Ron McMasters of Rochester.
She is survived by: her daughter Sandy (Louis) of Potsdam, NY; her nephews, Bill, Pat Nielsen Prattsburgh, John Jensen (Sherry) and Ken Nielsen White (Mary); her niece Linda Nielsen (James Steves) of Syracuse, NY; her grandchildren, Elijah of Austin Texas, Clara of The Netherlands, Clark (Yen) of Taiwan and Nicole; and her great grandchildren, William Loock Cazenovia and Jamie Jensen.
