In the vast expanse of eternity, Samuel shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Samuel farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel A. McElwee and Esther Ann McElwee Jr. (Cummings); and his sister Doris Jean Nelson. He is survived by: his siblings, David McElwee (Deb) of Penn Yan and Nancy Hockensmith of Cherry Valley, CA; his foster daughter Esther Wilson of Newman, GA; his nieces and nephews, James McElwee, Daniel Hockensmith (Ruth), Karen Hockensmith, Jeff Hockensmith (Debra), Joseph Hockensmith, Gregory Nelson and Laurie Nelson; and his friend Sara K. Hansen of Penn Yan.
