He is survived by: his wife Ann Smiley (Shudt); his children, Jennifer Whiston (Jeremy) and Robert Smiley; his brothers, Tim Smiley (Jean) and Tom Smiley; his nieces, Kristi Neiss (Tim) and Sarah Smiley; his nephew Karl Smiley (Courtney); and his great-niece Maya. He is also survived by many sisters and brothers-in-law, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces.
