He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Menzies and Pearl Menzies; his brothers, Lawrence and Michael Menzies; and his niece Danielle Menzies.

He is survived by: his wife Laraine Menzies; his children, Renee Powell and James Sutliffe; his daughter-in-law Amelia; his brother Danny Menzies; his sister-in-law Patty; his grandchildren, Matracia Powell, Justin Sutliffe (Lauren), Joshua Sutliffe and Mariah Sutliffe; and his great grandchildren, Ava, Aubrey and Eden Sutliffe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
