With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard G. Merrill Sr. of Plattekill, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 7, 2025 at the age of 75. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter R. Merrill and Phyllis Merrill (Quick); his sister-in-law Muriel "Mickey" Merrill; and his grandson Hunter Bradatsch. He is survived by: his wife Bette; his children, Dawn Merrill (Michael Bradatsch) of Milford, PA and Richard Merrill, Jr. (Susan Hess) of Plattekill; his brother Walter Merrill of Clintondale; his grandchildren, Kimberlee (Keith Way), Meagan O'Brien, Tyler O'Brien, Alyssa Merrill, Walter Merrill, Kyra (Caden Frost), Raymond Hess, Jeffrey Hess, Roger Hess Jr. and Angelina Montello; his great grandchildren, Kyle, Karter, Kallee Way, Ava, Aria and Haylee Hess; his nephews, Walter (Heather Merrill), Brian Merrill and Harry (Jenny Merrill); his niece Karen (Chris Conner); and his pet Shadow.
