He is survived by: his wife Pamela; his daughter Kristina Coryea; his granddaughter Emma of Plattsburgh; his daughter Stephanie Akin (Aaron); his grandsons, Desmond and Dexter; and his sisters, Nora McNeil of Peru and Julie Wells (Dennis) of Plattsburgh. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory can be made to The ALS Association Upstate New York Chapter or to Christopher's Haven, a home away from home for children with cancer in Boston, Massachusetts.
