She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard H. Darling and E. Blanche Darling (Benson) of Wingdale, NY.; her husband George R. Penfield; her brother Richard Darling (Dickie); and her son George Richard Penfield.
She is survived by: her sons, Robert Penfield (Theresa), Thomas G. Penfield of Plattsburgh and John F. Penfield (Hue Trinh) of Longs, SC; her siblings, Gordon Darling (Connie) and Wendy McCarthy (Kevin); her grandchild Chesney E. A. Weeden (Nathan B. Weeden) of West Chazy, NY; her great grandchildren, Azalyn G. and Samuel B. Weeden; her grandchild Jerred M. Penfield Penfield (Sarah J. (Hardy)); her great grandchildren, Brantley W. and Asher M. Penfield of Tucson, AZ; and her grandson Ian T. Penfield of Cape Cod, MA..
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home (29 Broad St, Plattsburgh, NY 12901). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. John's Church (18 Broad St, Plattsburgh, NY 12901).
Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Church or SUNY Plattsburgh Alumni Association.
