It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Earl L. DeGroodt of Pleasant Valley, New York, who passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl DeGroodt and Dorothy Blauvelt DeGroodt; his granddaughter Jessica Germano; his sister Michele DeGroodt; and his wife Virginia.
He is survived by: his daughters, Colleen Welch (Christopher) and Bonnie Germano; his grandchildren, Shannon DiValentino, Crystal Kasten, Michael Germano and Nicole Welch; his great grandchildren, Audrey, Ben, Vienna and Giuliana; and his brothers, Kenny DeGroodt (Nancy Butler DeGroodt) and Phillip Walton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Sweet's Funeral Home (4365 Albany Post Rd, Hyde Park, NY 12538). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Hyde Park United Methodist Church (1 Church St, Hyde Park, NY 12538).
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to the Hyde Park United Methodist Church.
