It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael A. Matias of Pleasant Valley, New York, who passed away on October 9, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Felipe Matias and Julia Hernendez-Matias; and his brother Phillip Matias. He is survived by: his daughter Julie Matias; his stepchildren, Joseph Muriel, Jonathan Muriel and Jillian Muriel; his cousin Carmen Leiba; his brother Fernando Hernendez; his nephew Phillip Michael Matias; his wife Damarias Matias; and the mother of his children Julie Muriel. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
