As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Peter may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Houtman and Joan C. Houtman (Doyle); his sister Ann Houtman; and his aunt Patricia. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Shields; his brother Andrew (Debbie); and his sister-in-law Bonnie (George). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home (1605 Main St, Pleasant Valley, NY 12569). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery (342 South Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601).
