With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Samuel R. Opher (Port Jervis, New York), born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 23, 2023 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel R. Opher and Verdell Opher; his daughter Synthia Marie Hastings; and his sister Beatrice Lillian Henry. He is survived by: his wife Emily Opher; his children, Tammise Hastings Stine (Douglas), Theresa Harrell Bacchetta (Edward) and Michael Opher; his siblings, Bernice Mercer, Bertha Opher, Sandra Opher, Evelyn Jordan (Gary), Marshall Opher and Carol Opher; his brother-in-law Wayne Henry; his aunt Lillian Higgins; and his grandchildren, Devin, Camden-Lei, Conner-Lium Stine and Hannah Harrell. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
