He was predeceased by: his parents, Braton Maxson and Pauline Daughtery Maxson; and his brother Carl Maxson. He is survived by: his sisters, Martha Jean Kemsley and Patricia Wilkins. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
