He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elbert Whitcomb and Marthena Whitcomb (Van Brocklin) of Pierrepont; his children, Alissa, Alex and Adam Whitcomb; the mother of his children Linda Whitcomb of Potsdam; and his siblings, Randy Whitcomb (Sue Nichols), Rob Whitcomb (Shelly Girard), Cindy Mobayed, Tracy Whitcomb (Heidi Gore) and Kim Murdock.
