He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathanael Griffin and Rose Griffin (Loffler); his granddaughter Sara Cutler; his son-in-law Boyd Dumont; and his brother-in-law Robert Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Joan A. Nichols; his children, Angela Jenkins (Terry Austin) of Hadley, Suzanne Dumont (Beth Cutler) of Pawley's Island, James Griffin (Thomas Griffin) of Norwood and Jeffrey Griffin (Chad Griffin) of Star Lake; and his sister Marie Lewis of Tupper Lake. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home (4 Cedar St, Potsdam, NY 13676). A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Bosco Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers those wishing may consider memorial contributions to be made in his memory to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
