We announce the death of Thomas A. Owney of Potsdam, New York, who passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 63. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur McGlaughlin and Alice McGlaughlin. He is survived by: his wife Erin Butler; his children, Sean Owney (Tasia Fetterley), Bridget Dimond (Nick) and Brendan Owney (Haeun Lee); and his siblings, Michael Owney (Maria), Tim Owney (Beth), Donna Levinson (Kenny) and Christopher Owney (Evie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the O'Leary Funeral Home (5821 US-11, Canton, NY 13617). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the O'Leary Funeral and Cremation Service.
