She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Nicholas and Mary E. Willis; her siblings, Fredrick Nicholas, Chester Nicholas, Agnes Anderson, Clara Johnson, Margaret Anderson (Louise), Helen Burney and Edith Waller; her children, Margaret Mizell, Jean Lassiter, Alberta Johnson and David C. Riley Sr.; and her grandson Daniel Mizell.
She is survived by: her son William L. Riley; her granddaughters, Elaine Mizell, Deborah Pegg (Mark) and Monica Harris (Wesley); her granddaughter-in-law Judy Mizell; her grandsons, David Riley Jr. (Henrietta), Steven Riley (Jean) and Ronald Gordon; and her caregiver Carmen. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bessie's honor to be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, her favorite charity.
