It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elaine Eley (Poughkeepsie, New York), who passed away on May 13, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid adieu to Elaine's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Elaine has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon Mayo and Edna Hughes; and her husband James Eley of Dolphin. She is survived by: her daughter Paula Eley of Stone Ridge; her granddaughter Maya Eley; her sister Dorothy Smith of Goochland, Virginia; her nieces, Michelle Huffman of Goochland and Alana Wade of Poughkeepsie; and her nephew Brian Smith of Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
