He was predeceased by : his parents, George J. Banta and Zelda Swartz Banta; and his brother Jeremy Banta. He is survived by : his wife Phebe Townsend; his children, Jane Banta Fisher (Richard Fisher) and George Banta, Jr. (Danielle); his grandchildren, Richard Fisher, Jr., Phebe Townsend Fisher, Sophie Lillian Banta and Emelia Jane Banta; and his cousins, Sarah Jo and Amy E. Fredrickson.
