It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald V. Hayes of Poughkeepsie, New York, born in Yonkers, New York, who passed away on January 27, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Helen Hayes and Vincent Hayes. He is survived by : his wife Sheila; his children, Michael (Michele Hayes), Susan (Christopher Meyer), Matthew (Erin Hayes), Meghan (Christopher Farquharson), Christopher (Vanessa Hayes) and Patrick (Kayla Hayes); his grandchildren, Maggie, Sally Hayes, Joseph, Madeline Meyer, Chloe, Olivia, Ella Hayes, Mackenzie, Hailey, Quinn, Colin Farquharson, Noa and Xavier Hayes; and his siblings, William Hayes (Debbie) and Sandra (Ben Lakatos).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, an organization Jerry deeply admired and supported for many years.
