He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Monroe and Gladys Rikert of Clinton Corners. He is survived by: his wife Doris (Darling); his daughters, Dawn Placke (Edward) and Gail Mocklow (David); his brother-in-law Dean Darling (Suzanne); his niece Anne Rose; and his nephew Jack.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Homer's memory to the Arlington High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
