With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James E. Maher Jr. of Poughkeepsie, New York, born in Waterloo, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 17, 2024 at the age of 66. He was predeceased by : his parents, James E. Maher Sr. and Carolee Rieger. He is survived by : his significant other Karen; his children, Melissa Stupell (Todd), Katelyn Hummel (Chris) and James Maher (Danielle); his granddaughters, Sigrid Stupell and Penelope Hummel; and his siblings, Karen, Kim Maher, Pat, Mike and Tom Maher. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephew, cousins.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home (371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Church (775 Main St, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603).
