He was predeceased by: his parents, Oskar Nothnagel and Helen Nothnagel (Martin); his sister-in-law Theodora "Teddy" Nothnagel; and his pet Shadow. He is survived by: his wife Janet; his sons, Michael and Brian; his children-in-law, Barry DeCoster and Meg Heckman; and his brother Frederick "Rick" Nothnagel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dutchess County ASPCA; Hudson Valley Hospice, where John received excellent care in his final days; or the charity of your choice.
