It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Judith L. Whalen (Poughkeepsie, New York), who passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William J. Lavery Sr. and Marian Lavery; and her siblings, Richard, Elizabeth and Barbara.
She is survived by: her siblings, William J. (Pamela) of Poughkeepsie, Nancy Bettina of Hyde Park and Kevin (Ellen) of Durham, NC.; her nieces and nephews, Tim, Jeff, Erica, Deborah, Nora, Laura, Matt, Christine and Ryan; her aunt Jo-Ann Wohlfahrt of Poughkeepsie; and her friend Sungi Barnum-Smith. She is also survived by several grand nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
