She was predeceased by: her parents, Pedro Rivera and Romana Concepcion; her husband Thomas Sanchez; and her sons, Alberto Sanchez, Luis A. Sanchez and Jose A. Sanchez.
She is survived by: her children, Lucy Miranda (Carmelo) and George Sanchez (Liza); her siblings, Pilar Rivera of Scranton, PA, Mercedes Rivera of Las Piedras, Osberto Rivera of Orlando, FL and Aramis Rivera of Las Piedras; her grandchildren, Jessica, Melissa, Yvette, Eliott, Samantha, Jonathan, Amanda and Kimberly; and her great grandchildren, Sarah, Savannah, Jalyssa, Julianna, Kenny, Violet, Alex and Mila. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Hudson Valley Hospice in Nieves' memory.
