He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Rene J. Sr. Tritschler and Margaret Tritschler (Rauback); his mother-in-law Elizabeth Thomas (Betty); his children, Eileen Sylvester (Bruce), Ron Poughkeepsie (Kathy), Beth Ann and Kenneth; his granddaughters, Heather Sylvester of Orlando, FL and Ashley Sylvester of North Granby, CT; and also, Richard (Betty) and Robert Osprey (Sharon).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pleasant Valley Library Building Fund, or the National WWII Museum, 945 Magazine St. New Orleans LA 70130, or a charity of your choice.

“I'm so sorry to see the passing of your Dad, I just happened to see the obituary tonight. You were all very lucky to have him as long as you did. I know it isn't easy. I will certainly remember the date he passed each year and say a prayer since it is my Grandmoms, Mary Tritschler's birthday. I remember fondly your Mom and Dad's visits not only to my Mom's house, but to my house as well. All my love and prayers are with all of you, Cindy Breslin Wachowicz”
