He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Apolena Nellis (Goot) and Clyde Leroy Nellis; his wife Dorothy Elizabeth (Keough); and his siblings, Mary Cabrini (June), Clyde Leroy (Bud) and Carolyn Hermon (Baker).
He is survived by: his children, Dawn LaBarge (Randall), Robert Nellis Jr. (Joanne), Katherine Inserillo (Robert), James Nellis (Catherine), David Nellis (Trudy Lackner) and Jon Nellis; his grandchildren, Brian, David, Daniel, Erin, Jacqueline, Elaina, Shelby, Cassandra, Katherine and Anna-Mae; his great grandchildren, Mckenna, Conner, Angeline, Everett, Charles, Charlotte, Brayden, Madeline, Declan, Kaius, Mia, Strider, Jackson and Owen; and his sisters, Ann Culver, Margaret Handy, Priscilla Brown and Mary Smith. He is also survived by 38 nieces & nephews.
