He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Eric Knies and Laura Knies (Howard); his stepfather Peter Colino; his wife Elizabeth; his daughter Katherine Stout (Josh) of Charleston, SC; his granddaughter Vera; his sisters, Laura and Wendi (John); and also Laura. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, grandniece, grandnephews, and friends.
