We announce the death of Dorothy A. Strafer in Queens, New York, who passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 96. Dorothy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Dorothy will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Dorothy’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Alma Patterson and George Patterson; and her husband John. She was also cherished by 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection (147 Campbell Ave, Williston Park, NY 11596). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Calverton National Cemetery (210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton, NY 11933).
