She was predeceased by: her parents, Eleanor R. Dunkley and George R. Penn Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Gilbert Hampton Washington; her sons, Ronald-Eugene (Cathy) and Brian (Ethel); her grandchildren, Brandon (Alexa), Stefhan, Kalil, Douglas (Desiree), Taylor (Braxton) and Cameron; her brother Ronald C. Dunkley (Denise R. Dunkley); and her daughter Michele Lynn Washington. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and lifelong friends.
