He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Elizabeth Schack; his children, Herbert Schack (Melissa), Susan Rempy (Bobby) and Stacy Meyers (Joe); his grandchildren, Tyler, Matthew (Javi), Justin, Ryan, Thomas, Eve and Jason; and his great grandchild Eloisa.

Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Papavero Funeral Home (72-27 Grand Ave, Maspeth, NY 11378). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Adalbert's Church (52-29 83rd St, Elmhurst, NY 11373). A burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mount Olivet Cemetery (65-40 Grand Ave, Maspeth, NY 11378).
