He is survived by: his mother Senora Layne; his wife Shelley Ann Layne; his sons, Xavier Layne (Sarah) and Augustus Layne; his grandson Ezra Layne; his siblings, Terence Layne and Malaika Layne Myers (Justin); his parents-in-law, Leroy Wilson and Jacqueline Wilson; his sister-in-law Patrice Wilson; and his nieces and nephews, Lord, Brennan, Evan, Myasia and Olivia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Khalid's honor to Heifer International, an organization close to his heart, which aims to help women increase food security and build sustainable futures for their families.
