She is survived by: her husband George Theodore Thurston; her daughter Christine Whitcher; her granddaughter Dr. Monica DiLorenzo (Michael DiLorenzo); her great grandchild Eleanor; her children, Emily, Alexander Power and Stephen Thurston (Cathryn); her grandchildren, Hazel and Harry Thurston; her cousins, Cinnia Edwards (Heber) and Nancy Ruff (Shands); her nephew Robert Thurston (Diana); her niece Danielle Calebaugh (Paul); Norman Thurston (Joan).
In honor of Monica's graduation from medical school, Nancy chose to donate her body to Albany Medical College's Anatomical gifts program for the education of medical students there.
