He is survived by: his wife Millicent Arnett; his children, Elizabeth M. "Betsy" Jenkins (Jim) of Lilburn, GA, Robert Arnett Matson (Shanna) of Hamburg, NY, Timothy T. Matson (Deborah) of Old Saybrook, CT, David A. Matson (Brenda) of Lake View, NY, James W. Matson (Susan) of Randolph, NY and Douglas R. Matson of Randolph; his grandchildren, Dana Jenkins, Andrew Jenkins, Eliza Matson (Kevin), Robert E. Matson (Shannon), Noa Matson (Nikhil), Mallory Matson (Scott), Jessica Matson (Harry), Lee Fitzgerald-Matson (Siobhan), Sophia Matson, Katherine Matson, Emily Matson, Evan Matson and Dylan Matson; and his great grandchildren, Silannah Fitzgerald-Matson, Kate Kaiser, Theo Patel, Nate Curry and Olive Baron. He is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home (14 Church St, Randolph, NY 14772). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Randolph United Presbyterian Church (186 W Main St, Randolph, NY 14772).
