He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyman Tremaine and Alice Powell (Fryar); his sister Caroline Powell; and his in-laws, Leonard and Norma Jean Jump.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila Buffardi Powell (Jump); his son Joel Buffardi (Michele) of Sayville, NY; his grandchildren, Maria Buffardi, Nicholas Buffardi and Sophia Buffardi; his children, Jacob, Lila, Kyle and Colin; his sister Mary Alice Van Wie (Martin); and his friends, Keith and Elaine Armstrong.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Babcock Funeral Home (19 Pulver Ave, Ravena, NY 12143). A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery (200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871).
