He was predeceased by: his parents, Audley C. Burns and Anne R. Burns (Oxford); and his daughter Teal E. A. Burns. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Burns; his sister Elizabeth Lunz; his son Ryan Edward Burns (Sara); and his grandchildren, Joseph T. Molloy, Liam Edward Burns, Justice M. Spucches and Hunter R. Burns.

Ed's contributions to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Department and the Town of Milan, coupled with his love for his family and community, left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
