It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ellen Jane Irving of Rensselaer, New York, born in Morris, Connecticut, who passed away on January 16, 2021, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Due to Covid-19, services and burial will be arranged at the family's discretion and kept private.

“For Jane's family.... I spent a great number of days at the Van Rensselaer Manor with my father, who was in the room next door to Jane. I have thought of her often since my time there and will remember her always. She left a lasting impression. A beautiful woman, inside and out. A peacemaker, "a violet by a mossy stone" . Her humble, gentle, compassionate nature is something that is not often come by. I am so very grateful to have met her and I am deeply sorry for your loss.”

The Dwyer’s and Irving’s shared our time and experiences on Mann Avenue since the early 1950s as neighbors and close friends. Your mom was a truly classy lady. I very much enjoyed visiting her and you at the Van Rensselaer Manor several years back and I will forever cherish the fond memories of the times spent with your brother Lee under your mom’s tutelage growing up.
